Gladstone House is a dementia friendly Extra-Care development, consisting of apartments and associated communal facilities, allowing older tenants to move to more appropriate accommodation, whilst increasing the availability of family housing.

This residential community consists of 60 apartments with communal facilities including lounges, a restaurant, coffee bar, salon, cinema, and hobbies room. It offers independent living with support for over-60s, often removing the need for future residential care.

Designed around a central “village” hub, the layout encourages social interaction between residents and promotes interaction with the wider community.  Unique, well-lit routes with breakout spaces support easy navigation, especially for those with dementia.

Externally, careful consideration of form and materials break up the building’s scale, highlight entrances, and support public access to shared amenities. Sensory gardens, green walls, and roofs enhance biodiversity, benefiting residents and wildlife.

Many residents have reported a significantly improved quality of life since moving in.
