This development is made up of six innovative, high quality, four-bedroom, sustainable homes for a private developer client.
In 2017 Studio G were delighted to receive unanimous committee approval on this exciting scheme of six sustainable homes, following extremely complex negotiations with the planning department.
The site is in a beautiful, but sensitive location adjacent to the Fossdyke navigation at Saxilby near Lincoln, and to take full advantage of the unique setting, the main living areas, including large terraces were located at first floor level, above the flood plain.
The dwellings were highly insulated, designed on Passivhaus principles, and clad in stained timber at the higher level, with render and brick panelling below. Large areas of glazing provided a strong visual connection with the surrounding landscape whilst reducing the need for artificial lighting.
The unique nature of the design was recognised at the Lincolnshire Property Awards, where the project was given the award for the ‘Best Residential Development’ in the county.
